This study is researching breast and ovarian cancer in African-American families who have a personal or family history of these forms of cancer. The purpose of this research study is to increase our understanding of the genetic, environmental and medical risk factors associated with breast and ovarian cancer. We are studying individuals with these cancers and their relatives to identify factors which may affect the risk of breast and/or ovarian cancer. These factors may be identified through analysis of questionnaire data and DNA samples (extracted from blood). If people at greatest risk of developing breast or ovarian cancer were identified early, actions can be taken in hopes of preventing or better controlling the disease.
